Set Lists & Broken Records

For those that like this kind of thing, and I include myself, here are some recent set lists, including friday’s wonderful Cabinet of Wonders, our first at City Winery. See below.

In other news, my parents are stuck across the other side of the Atlantic, trying (and currently failing) to get over here for Christmas. That goose is beginning to look awfully large.

In tragic Jukebox news, I actually shelled out for a slightly rare single: Total Destruction of the Mind/Redneck by Swamp Dogg on the CONTEMPO record label. It had a removable centre. Unfortunately, its removal also removed half of the single from the other half, right down the middle. I’ve done this ill-fated maneuver (manoeuvre) a million times, without decimating the record. (I always wanted to break a record.) The next seven singles to hit the box, when I find them, will be:

Total Destruction of the Mind – Swamp Dogg (unbroken in two)

Give Me Back Me Man – The B-52s

Feel Like Jumping – Marcia Griffiths

Body’s In Trouble – Mary Margaret O’Hara (impossible to find with a large or removable centre)

Autumn Almanac – The Kinks

Ca Plane Pour Moi – Plastic Bertrand

If you get into this game, you need a strong bench. Rotation becomes a necessity.

We’ll speak again before christmas. So until then,

Happy Holidays
